Are Gucci Handbags Worth The Money?

By Lee MacRae

Designer handbags are all the rage these days. Just about everyone like your aunt or your sister in law desires a Donna Sharp handbag. But since we know designer handbags are usually very expensive, the question that we have to ask is, are we spending our money wisely?

It's obvious that most people around the country today obtain their money through hard work. They want to know if a purse or bag by Diesel is worth the money. Is going to last? And the answer that question is yes, they are. And the reasons why?

There is some truth to the oftten heard statement, "you will pay for the name". But it is also true that you're going to pay for the quality in a brand-name product. Top-of-the-line designer handbags by Gwen Stefani or Kathy Van Zeeland are made with only the best leathers available.

Want a hint to know what you're getting? Top designer handbags will always have a fine lining material inside. The cheaper products will not have that. Makers of cheap products are always looking to lower the costs. And so they use a lower grade linings and even lower grade hardware such as the clasp. Avoid these like the plague. Full-grain leather is made from the finest natural hides with no imperfections. Top grain leather's are extremely long wearing. It is extremely durable and eventually will develope a rich patina that increases in beauty. Full-grained handbags are often made from the skins of young cattle and are prized for their smooth texture and fine quality.

To sum up, even though a handbag by UGG or Hogan ,may seem expensive, what you're going to get is a top quality product that will give you pleasure for many years. Even if you need to save for a bit of time, the designer handbag is a wise investment.

Canada DevDays 2004

Thu, 12 Feb 2004 14:21:00 GMT

Ever since I read about the Microsoft DevDays 2004 event I rushed to their site in order to find out if there was any Canadian cities listed! Unfortunately, I could not find any information related to a Canada DevDays event occurring after 2001.

At first I thought that this year's event was US-only, but then I stumbled upon David Cumps' reports from Belgium DevDays and then Roy Osherove writing about Israel DevDays!

Sure, the January issue of INETA mentions a Microsoft Canada Campus Tour organized by DotNetStudents.ca. There is also Steven Smith from ASPAlliance who gave a great speech at the Montreal Visual Studio User Group on February 10th 2004. But that's pretty much it for the coming months.

This is very sad because I would have been one of the first to register for this event! Hopefully next year we will see a Canada DevDays 2005?

UPDATE:
Phil Weber also mentionned in the comments, VSLine! in Toronto in early May 2004. Great!

Windows 2000 & Windows NT 4 Source Code Leaks

Thu, 12 Feb 2004 18:08:00 GMT

First they stole Valve's Half-Life 2 source code last fall, then they hit get their hands on Windows source code? It's a bit early for April Fool's kind of joke, don't you think?

"It would appear that two packages are circulating on the internet, one being the source code to Windows 2000, and the other being the source code to Windows NT." via Neowin.

Is history repeating itself over again? Hopefully not! This could be pretty harmful for Microsoft.

UPDATE:
Just like Stefano Demiliani pointed out, there is an official word from Microsoft about all this.

UPDATE 2:
Apparently they were already able to trace the code leak to Microsoft's partner Mainsoft, which had licensed the code for one of its cross-platform products. The code supposedly represents Windows 2000 SP1 and was somehow lifted from a development machine. via BetaNews.
