Ubuntu Ignored Ickthyopterix 8.10 Static IP Bug

If you give your machine a static address in Ubuntu 8.10 or its variants, you’re going to have problems.  In my case, it kept the IP but lost the DNS servers upon every reboot.

first, remove Gnome Network Manager
